On Friday, January 20th 2017 Cisco Umbrella released the Umbrella roaming client for Windows version 2.0.331 for all customers on the stage track.
CHANGE SUMMARY (2.0.258 to 2.0.331)
The following changes are included:
-
Added new feature for reporting the Active Directory user identity when the Umbrella roaming client is off the AD network.
-
Improved indexing when receiving NIC binding order.
-
Improved the probe test for a customer's networks. The probe test now verifies, first, that the domain name provided by the customer for the customer probe resolves to a private IP address, and, second, that the response for a lookup of debug.opendns.com returns no answers. The first test is to identify whether or not the ISP redirects unknown domain names (NXDOMAIN) to an advertising page (which would have public IP addresses). The second test verifies that the network to which the customer is connected does not have a captive portal (which would return a private IP address sending the browser to a login page). If both tests succeed, the customer probe test passes.
- Additional details enhancement in the Umbrella roaming client's UI.
- Eliminated dependencies on libeay32.dll in ldns.
- The NIC array is now built based on registry's binding order instead of being dictated by .NET. This addresses NIC ordering with Windows 10 where the .NET based ordering was eliminated.
- Ensure the Umbrella roaming client does not enter an encrypted state before it has successfully registered.
- DHCP-based search domain suffixes are now added to the proxy_whitelist for proper local resolution.
