Issue:
When downloading exported reports, IE 11 may fail to download the report due to a cookie authentication issue on IE 11 and below. This cookie check has been officially depreciated by Microsoft for all future updates.
This arises on the dashboard due to the transition between the *.opendns.com domain and *.umbrella.com domain. The Dashboard uses an umbrella.com address whereas the underlying API utilizes an opendns.com address.
The only affected supported browser is IE 11 with moderate or above cookie privacy validation settings. The error in download manifests as:
Workarounds:
This download issue for exported reports may be easily remedied by any of the four methods below.
1. Utilize another modern browser such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Edge.
2. Begin your login to the dashboard at https://dashboard.opendns.com instead of https://dashboard.umbrella.com. You'll end up in the same place, but workaround the problem.
3.Use the below privacy settings, which brings the settings in line with the defaults for IE 11 on Windows 10. This menu be accessed by navigating to Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced in IE 11:
4. Add both opendns.com and umbrella.com to Internet Options > Privacy > Sites in IE 11, as below. This exempts the opendns.com and umbrella.com domains from IE's specific cookie handling:
