Overview
When creating a new user account, you may encounter the error message, "Error: This email is already registered to a Cisco Umbrella Account".
The email address is already registered to an account with us, but the account is not a part of your organization.
Solution
You must invite the existing user to your dashboard instead of creating a new user. You can do this under Admin > Accounts, then click Invite instead of Add.
After filling out the user's information and clicking Invite, an email will be sent to the email address you specified with a link to accept the invitation. If the user accepts the invitation, they will now be a part of your organization.
The user's status will be Pending until they accept the invitation.
Note
MSP, MSSP, Multi-Org and similar account types cannot invite existing users to the console. If you are experiencing this issue and use the console to manage multiple organizations, please contact us at umbrella-support@cisco.com.

I don't have the ability to invite a user in my MSP dashboard.
I don't have an MSP dashboard. In the normal Umbrella dashboard this is under:
Settings > Users and Roles > Accounts
I get presented with this:
Two icons, one for adding and one of inviting a user.
If this does not help, raise a ticket. https://support.umbrella.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Please note this feature is not available for the MSP console, if you are a MSP and experiencing this this error please raise a ticket with us.
