On June 19th our new edge data center in Minneapolis, Minnesota started accepting traffic. The Minneapolis data center initially supports DNS and Secure Web Gateway services only.
Inbound traffic to the Minneapolis data center is controlled by anycast routing, so no customer action is required.
This new edge data center expands our rapidly growing Global Network. It's our 12th data center in the US, and 43rd globally. Due to our innovative Global Cloud Architecture and anycast routing, each additional data center reduces latency and increases overall availability.
Also, while we strive to maintain high uptime for all of our data centers, our augmented routing solution seamlessly and automatically routes traffic to the next nearest data center if, for any reason, a data center is unavailable.
