Between July 27th and July 31st, our new edge data center in Chennai, India will start accepting traffic. The Chennai data center initially supports DNS and Secure Web Gateway services only. IPsec tunnels and cloud firewall services will become available in September.
Inbound traffic to the Chennai data center is controlled by anycast routing, so no customer action is required.
This new edge data center expands our rapidly growing Global Network. It's our 3rd data center in India, and 44th globally. Due to our innovative Global Cloud Architecture and anycast routing, each additional data center reduces latency and increases overall availability.
Also, while we strive to maintain high uptime for all of our data centers, our augmented routing solution seamlessly and automatically routes traffic to the next nearest data center if, for any reason, a data center is unavailable.
