Starting November 2nd 2023, the Umbrella edge data centers in Chennai, India and Dublin, Ireland have been upgraded to support IPsec tunnels and cloud-delivered firewall services. These data centers previously provided DNS and secure web gateway only.
The upgrades to these edge data centers expand our rapidly growing global cloud architecture.
Chennai and Mumbai are a recommended pair for IPsec tunnel failover configurations. The IP address for Chennai was previously assigned to Hong Kong, as noted in this article.
The Dublin, Ireland edge data center is one of several Umbrella data centers that do not support anycast-based automatic failover for IPsec tunnels (anycast failover is supported for DNS and SWG, however). Customers that want to connect an IPsec tunnel to Dublin must configure a backup tunnel to another Umbrella edge data center.
See the IPsec tunnel documentation for the IP addresses used to establish IPsec tunnels, and more information about failover configuration.
