On December 14th, our new edge data center in Boston, Massachusetts started accepting traffic. The Boston data center initially supports DNS services only. Additional services will be enabled in early 2024.
Inbound traffic to the Boston data center is controlled by anycast routing, so no customer action is required.
This new edge data center expands our rapidly growing Global Network. It's our 13th data center in the US, and 45th globally. Due to our innovative Global Cloud Architecture and anycast routing, each additional data center reduces latency and increases overall availability.
Also, while we strive to maintain high uptime for all of our data centers, our augmented routing solution seamlessly and automatically routes traffic to the next nearest data center if, for any reason, a data center is unavailable.
