OpenDNS became aware of slowness originating from our Chicago data center serving the VPN connectivity for Umbrella Mobile on iOS. As a result, initial connectivity to establish the VPN may take longer than usual and there may be latency for internet connectivity after the VPN is established. This problem is isolated to connections to the Chicago data center.
To determine whether your Umbrella Mobile VPN is using the Chicago data center, just look in the Umbrella Mobile App itself. Note this status will not show unless the VPN is connected.
