Over the week of July 6th, 2015 OpenDNS will begin the staged release of Umbrella Insights Virtual Appliance (VA) version 1.4.9. On Tuesday July 7th 2015, customers on the early release stage track will receive the upgrade. Provided there are no issues seen on the stage release, all remaining customers will see their 1.4.7 VAs upgrade to 1.4.9 over the course of the next few days, commencing July 8th 2015 and finishing at or before July 23th, 2015. Any changes to this schedule will be reported under these release notes.
NOTE: Previously, we had set the release scheduled to finish by July 17th, 2015. Completion of this release will now take place on or before July 23rd, 2015.
NOTE: due to the rollback of 1.4.8 to version 1.4.7, all customers should be upgrading from 1.4.7 to 1.4.9. However, all features in the 1.4.8 release are also included in 1.4.9, along with a bugfix.
Changes from 1.4.7 to 1.4.9:
- Add support for DNSCrypt in the Virtual Appliance. Although this functionality will be disabled for now, it's available to be enabled in the future.
- Added timeouts for start-menu and sync process calls, which fixes an issue where a sync could freeze when connectivity to OpenDNS is lost during the sync.
- Update the OpenDNS Forwarder to version 1.16, which includes a fix to ensure that that SERVFAIL responses are no longer cached.
