This article explains how to get diagnostic logging from the Cisco Security for Chromebook (DNS only) client when requested by Umbrella support.
Note: This guide is for Cisco Security for Chromebook version 2.1.1 with DNS layer protection using DoH (DNS over HTTPS) templates.
To Obtain Configuration and Current State Information:
1) Open Chrome Browser > Navigate to "https://policy-debug.checkumbrella.com/" and send us a copy of the diagnostic info located at the bottom of the page.
2) Provide the output of the chrome://policy page, use the "Export to JSON" option and send the exported json file to Support.
3) Enter the following commands in the extension console ("Console" tab) to get state information:
Note: You will need to enable and access the Extension Console Tab to perform this step, see more details below.
Registration / Synchronization / Proxy data
chrome.storage.sync.get(console.log)
Get domain exceptions (Internal/External)
chrome.storage.local.get(console.log)
Get next alarm time for synchronization, authentication, and other functions
chrome.alarms.getAll(console.log)

To save the Console Output, right click inside the console and click "Save As" , send the exported log file to Support.
