As a reminder, two VAs must be deployed in order to upgrade automatically during the upgrade window.
In accordance with Cisco policy, a list of open source software modules used in the VA is attached to these release notes. It contains licenses and notices for open source software used in this product.
CHANGE SUMMARY (3.0 to 3.0.1)
Version 3.0.1 is a patch release that addresses an issue in version 3.0 where ssh access to the VA was sometimes disabled on upgrade.
CHANGE SUMMARY (2.8.9 to 3.0)
- Upgrade of VA's operating system from Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 20.04.
- Enable logging of internal DNS queries to a remote syslog server. This is being offered as a beta feature as part of this release. For instructions on commands to be used for this feature, refer to https://support.umbrella.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032822252-Virtual-Appliance-Commands
- AWS does not support VM Import for Ubuntu 20.04. Till the time this is supported by AWS, a VA in AWS will need to be deployed by creating an AMI from a snapshot and then attaching the dynamic disk as a separate volume. Instructions for the same are captured here.
- When launching a Virtual Appliance on Azure via the Azure UI or CLI (as documented here), any password provided in the Azure UI or CLI will be ignored, and the VA will be launched with the default password. The default password for your VA can be seen on the Sites and Active Directory page of the Umbrella dashboard.
