Cisco is proud to release the one client for Cisco's future - the Cisco Secure Client. This client is the unification point for cisco client-side software across the entire business. While you may not see all client software included in the initial release, there is much more to come.
This release is initially available for Windows only, with macOS and Linux support on the way.
For all new users deploying Umbrella, we recommend planning to deploy the Cisco Secure Client release starting in calendar year 2023 when it is available for all platforms. AnyConnect 4.10 branded releases will continue to be released until this time.

FAQ
I use AnyConnect today. What do I need to do to update?
As an existing AnyConnect user, treat the update to Cisco Secure Client as an "AnyConnect version 5.0" major version release. Profile storage paths will change to the rebranded locations.
I use Umbrella auto update for AnyConnect today. When will I get updated to Cisco Secure Client?
Umbrella-pushed auto updates will continue to only release AnyConnect branded updates on version 4.10.x through the last release of 4.10 from Cisco. At this time, a the next release will be a 5.x release (then-current) as a one time final update with the Umbrella auto update system.
After receiving the last Umbrella auto update to Cisco Secure Client, will I be able to control updates from SecureX?
By default, no. In order to auto update with Cisco Secure Client, the unified connector for SecureX must be deployed and configured. Alternatively, perform a one time manual update via your desired methods (SCCM, MDM, etc) with the SecureX-enabled download from the SecureX portal.
What benefits over the Umbrella updates do SecureX updates provide?
Many benefits are included:
- Updates may be configured per-profile, allowing multiple groups of devices to be pushed different versions.
- Explicit version selection is available
- Tracked version selection is available (e.g. release candidate, general release, beta)
- Updates occur silently in the background. Umbrella pushed updates required a popup window.
